Catnapper Furniture traces its origins back over 100 year, to 1886 when the Cleveland Chair Company manufactured its first rocker and stationary chairs. In 1932, W. Ray Jackson opened his Upholstery Company - manufacturing stationary sofas and chairs, and in 1941 the companies merged to form one of the world's largest family owned furniture companies.

Through the years, Catnapper has pioneered the development and manufacturing of many industry firsts: first recliner with a metal mechanism, motion upholstery, reclining sectionals, X-tra Comfort, and the "Polaris" System - an "All Steel" reclining system - built to last. Still family owned and operated, Catnapper continues to lead the industry in comfort and value with its recliners and sectionals.
